Oh God Gotta Catch 'em All

so in summary:

Wednesday - 2 gigs in one 2...1 at Puregroove, coinciding with a real ale fest then one at The Luxe in Spitalfields. Proceeded to get smashed in The Golden Heart and it was a touch messy.

Thursday - Died quietly at work...ate stuff at Dana's and went and watched TV Off at Lexington as part of that JaJaJa night. Smashed Icelanders everywhere

Friday: Pub full of smashed Icelanders in Barnsbury. Good Lord

Saturday: CARDIFF TO SEE JOHN CALE...Oranjeboom prevented us from remembering TOO much of what was a good concert by all accounts. Twats that me and Goudie are. Good to see Pagan and the Welsh. Didn't eat any rarebit or coal or any shit like that.

Sunday: PILLARS FOR BREAKFAST.. Was MASSIVE and rubbish. Suspect, possibly canine sausages...old man conversing with himelf on the loo. endlessly dispiriting stuff. On the coach on the way back, two old theatrical gentlemen board at Newport...fucking Newport of all places. One was wearing 2 ties. Christ

Monday: Work, Morrisons, Home, 1 scene of Olivier's Hamlet, GTA, Dana's, Bed.

Whew....as if whew.

Home

Well, home after work. Collected assorted childhood remnants and read some terrifying tokens of my sheer downright weirdness as a child in the shape of my year three creative writing book. Great to see the folks, as per usual. Missed an enlightening looking documentary on Nicky Haslam but what can ya do?

Picasso biography is ace. Montmartre blue period at the mo.

Off to bed.

Ooh

Yesterday band practice with Tunde and Alastair. Click track ossumness and then half a skinfull of aspalls in The reliance. My mixer guffed out smoke but we ate nice sausages and fell asleep on the sofa

Today was motherfucking MasterChef Live. Sampled a whole load of tasty faff and Dana nearly exploded after sampling some Dragonslayer sauce.

Shot some ambulances with a bzooks and finished The Count of Monte Cristo. He isn't half a crafty count.

Picasso biography and fishfinger sangers time now. Am broke.

Look back in anger

Was good- Richard Burton was annoying in just the right way. Dentist repaired the chip in my front tooth and I spent the day with a massive numb face. Ace. Tago Mago and Walt Whitman both growing on me. Ad Hoc burritos for dinner.

Shreddies

Then work. The other week I timed both routes from the pentonville road entrance to the Northern line at Kings Cross. Turns out the un-signposted one wins by over a minute. Functionally exciting times.

Work was considerable faff but on returning home I DID get to knock together a questionable veg chilli which I ate watching "A streetcar Named Desire" good God what a performance by Vivien Leigh, although you don't need me to tell you that.

Halftime pint at The owl and Pussycat with old Brainlove then back here. Bed soon, dentist tomorrow. Bum.

Oh and we saw cymbals eat guitars at rough trade East

They were ace.

Today was silly

Blearily stumbled into work. Work was quite frighteningly similar to what is was like in my twenties. Listened to NEU 75 and Debussi's arabesque no 1 for the first times. Both ace.

Tried in vain to stitch the crotch of some jeans while Dana ran over policemen on the Xbox. Currentl watching a channel four mock up of what it'd be like if we hanged Gary glitter. Possibly the shittest and most portracted piece of nonsense ever.

Bed soon.

Sunday

Sunday was textbook...Aimless wandering around The British Museum...Old Greek boobies and suchlike...sea creatures and cocks cut off statues. Then I drank enough coffee to wake Darby Crash and read more of The Count Of Monte Cristo.

He really is a sneaky old stick, is that count.

Then I nursed the American with melted cheese and powerade while blowing up policemen in Liberty City.

Bolognese, a Bettie Page biopic and bed.

Sunday.

So this will be a diary of sorts

I turned 30 on Saturday. 15 of our chums had champagne and scotch eggs and cake up Primrose Hill. We went to London Zoo where we saw some more-than acceptable giraffes, some fickle bearded pigs,a thirsty Brainlove and best of all I STARED INTO THE TIGER'S EYES.

Edinburgh Castle, Fireworks at Ali pali a and then the creaky pubs of North London.

Plus I got a knee-trembler of a guitar and Pavement tickets! What a fucking win-Olympics all round.
